May, 2001 - We are happy to announce the hiring of our new systems manager. Steven Jones comes to us from the Design School at NC State. Welcome Steven!

May, 2001 - Linda Babcock, queen of CEO, and Charlynne Smith were awarded the 2001 University Award for Excellence representing the College of Natural Resources. Congratulations!

March, 2001 - Justin Walther, our systems manager, moved on to a new position with IBM. Good luck at Big Blue, Justin!

March, 2001 - Bill and Shannon Millinor are pleased to announce the arrival of Sierra Ashley Millinor. Sierra was born on March 15, 2001 at 11:40am. She was a healthy 7 lbs 9 oz and 21" long. Congratulations!

February, 2001 - The new CEO web site was launched.

November, 2000 - The twelfth annual NCSU Libraries Faculty Award was presented to Dr. Hugh Devine.

October, 2000 - The CEO teaching lab received 14 new, state-of-the-art, PCs this month.

August, 2000 - The CEO graduate student office was renovated this month. We now have plush new accommodations for up to twenty students.

August, 2000 - Congrats to Justin and Julianne Walther on the addition to their family. Harrison John Walther was born on August 12th and weighed in at a very manly 9 lbs. 14 oz.

July, 2000 - Bill and Shannon Millinor are happy to announce that they are expecting a new addition to the family in March, 2001. Congratulations!

July, 2000 - Bill Millinor was hired as a Research Associate after finishing his Master's with Dr. Devine.

May, 2000 - Bill Slocumb was awarded the University Award for Excellence representing the College of Forest Resources. Way to go Bill!

January, 2000 - Current CEO graduate student Joe Knight was hired as a Research Associate. He will continue to work on his Ph.D.

December, 1999 - We are saddened to report the passing of one of our colleagues. Marina Riley, a Ph.D. student of Dr. Devine's and friend to us all, died this month after a long bout with cancer. You will be missed Marina.

December, 1999 - CEO is pleased to announce the hiring of a new Systems Manager. Justin Walther came on board recently to take over management of our computer systems. Welcome Justin!

October, 1999 - Our long-time Systems Manager, Scott Ross, moved on to a challenging new job with NC State. Good luck Scott!

November, 1998 - The Computer Graphics Center (CGC) has changed its name to reflect more accurately its mission. Our new name is "Center for Earth Observation" (CEO).

June, 1998 - Linda Babcock assumed the duties as Administrative Manager for the Center. Congrats Linda!

June, 1998 - Charlotte Swart, our Administrative Manager, retired this month. Enjoy your well earned time off Charlotte!

March, 1998 - Beth Eastman was hired to work as a Research Assistant with Dr. Devine. Welcome Beth!
